what brought me here?
Once again, my love of art and science has shaped my journey into art.
After almost 20 years of designing nursing and medical textbooks, I returned to my more hands-on creative roots. I rediscovered some of my old tools of the trade—graphite, colored pencil, camera, collage—and more recently added a new favorite, watercolor.
My art is inspired by close observation. I find delight in rendering intricate detail, capturing nuance of color, and evoking depth of form found in nature. Whether painting the crinkly skins and wispy roots of onions in watercolor, or creating a botanical art series of medicinal herbs, or drawing a delicate feather in pencil, I remain fascinated by the natural world.
Come see what has caught my eye.
